I adored every moment of working with Thom and AlterECO. I knew a banquette would maximize my small dining space and create more room in the kitchen. However, i couldn’t find the quality or price I wanted. Thom made a proposal of a simple yet intricate design that would fit in the odd corner of the area. Each side was a different dimension and required a tailor made design. Thom worked with my vision, gave excellent suggestions, and completed it in a timely manner. We met Thom from AlterEco during a hiking trip in Japan. We learned he was a cabinetmaker that lived in SF Bay Area and queried him about bamboo cabinets which we were considering for a kitchen and 2 bathroom remodel. As part of a whole house renovation, my husband and I had the pleasure of working with Thom to redo all of the cabinetry in the house. The cabinets really are spectacular in form and function. We couldn’t be happier. As an added bonus, everyone who sees them comments on them. Many are surprised by how much they like the bamboo, having never seen such cabinets before. The end grain is a special bonus and a few folks have threatened to walk off with the bench we had built for the master bathroom. :)
